Augmented Reality Demo

Check out this great demo from the DEMO conference reacently given by t-immersion.

I have seen alot of this stuff when I worked at the BBC and know how they do that – I’d love to know what’s behind this lot. It looks great!

In fact, it’s absolutley great that we can watch the DEMO videos from the conference here too 😉

Especially this one from Adobe with Mike Downey (who I met a few years ago to talk about mobile stuff on FlashLite) demonstrating Adobe Apollo looks absolutley great. It has things that Lazlo simply doesn’t (pricetags apart). I’m very excited to think of the apps I could build with this. It’s not far removed from what I have been able to build with Zinc. But this is different. Apollo integrates very nicely on technology we already have at our disposal as web-active people/developers. It works like AJAX and Flash and Flex – and possibly Director. It ‘loves’ data. And boy, have I got a shedload of that 😉

You Can Help Find Jim Gray

Hey YOU! Yes, ‘YOU’ – you know, ‘Person Of The Year‘. Well it sounds like your time has come to try save someone.

Computer science icon Jim Gray mysteriously disappeared after a solo trip with his sail boat outside San Francisco Bay. The coast guard has been searching for 4 days but has not been able to locate anything, not even debris. On Thursday 3 private planes searched through the coastal areas and they also returned unsuccessful.

Amazon has stepped in to help the helpers. They have done a fresh satellite sweep of the area and stored the images on their S3 storage service.

Then they’ve created a task on their Mechanical Turk service to allow volunteers to scan the images to look for the boat.

BRILLIANT IDEA! I really hope they find this guy. Alive.

New Embed Options

I see that blogs now have more ‘code’ options to go with the ability to embed YouTube and Google videos. They have added SplashCast and DailyMotion. (I’ve only heard of one of those, and then only recently)

I’m eager to find out what the process is for getting on that list, as I have some podcast widgets on the horizon 😉

Was it financial?

Where my option? 🙂

We Are The Machine

This is fantastic. Found over on KittenFluff, I think this might possibly beat the ‘EPIC‘ video clips as faves of mine. Brilliant. Spot on!

It’s so bloody good to be here.

Who is this ‘kosso’ anyway?

I am a 'Createc'. A creative technologist, entrepreneur/ hacker/ geek. Worked on building things on the web for over 12 years.

Used to work at BBC News interactive and created the publishing and delivery systems for video news to get distributed on huge screens in major railway stations around the country.

I left the BBC to become CTO / sole-lead architect/developer at for three years.

I have now left them to build a start up a new system called 'Phreadz', which is a 'Social Multimedia Conversation Network', integrating everything that is 'V.I.T.A.L' to us on the web. Video, Images, Text, Audio and Links.

I built the whole thing my myself. I programmed every line of code and positioned every pixel. I'm looking forward to attracting an hiring new members of the team to help me out! :)

There are currently over 1000 happy and helpful beta testers on the system so far and one client of a white-labelled solution.
