NPR Podcasts OPML

I just saw the Dave has pointed to a post from Chis Pirillo, asking for an OPML file of all of NPR’s podcasts. Funnily enough, I have been talking to people at NPR about doing just that.

I have an OPML file here, which lists all their podcasts.

Very soon (once I have ironed out a bug) I will use the alpha system at podcast.com to publish this. All I need to do is import the OPML, and then assign a subdomain, using the simple form (yet to be released) and bingo!! They’ll all appear within npr.podcast.com I did an identical process to create http://bbc.podcast.com

I like the look of what you doing at podcast.com.

I think helping people find podcasts is a great mission, one I share. I like the idea of a subdomain for the category – it’s an idea I have been thinking about doing, but have’nt had time. One guy can only do so much.

I publish my entire directory in an open opml format, about 12,000 or so feeds. It might be helpful to you guys. I think its one of the largest open opml files for podcasts.

You can find the opml files here http://www.digitalpodcast.com/opml.php

    best,

    Alex

Who is this ‘kosso’ anyway?

I am a 'Createc'. A creative technologist, entrepreneur/ hacker/ geek. Worked on building things on the web for over 12 years.

I'm engaged to the beautiful Efisia Fele :)

Used to work at BBC News interactive and created the publishing and delivery systems for video news to get distributed on huge screens in major railway stations around the country.

I left the BBC to become CTO / sole-lead architect/developer at podcast.com for three years.

I have now left them to build a start up a new system called 'Phreadz', which is a 'Social Multimedia Conversation Network', integrating everything that is 'V.I.T.A.L' to us on the web. Video, Images, Text, Audio and Links.

I built the whole thing my myself and will soon be looking for funds to expand the team and system to make it available to launch.

There are currently happy and helpful 500 (closed) beta testers on the system so far and one client of a white-labelled solution.

Phreadz has a business model, which is already working.
